Working from a tidy, chic workspace will foster creativity and keep productivity at optimum levels. Whether it’s an office space where you’re clocking in from nine in the morning to five in the afternoon, or a home desk where you often spend the night away studying your lessons, it’s important to keep it clean and organized at all times. Here are a few of our favourite tricks for tidying up and adorably decorate our workspace.
- De-Clutter Regularly
And by regularly, we mean weekly. While ideally, it should be at the end of each day, the chances of that happening is pretty slim. Set a goal that’s attainable. Instead of cleaning up every day, spend a few minutes every Friday to clear out your desk. File papers, throw away garbage, sort through your mail, and return office materials in their proper places. There’s nothing like ending the week with a clear space. Frantic Monday will thank you for doing so.
- Keep Cords Hidden
Nothing will spoil a cute little workspace like a tangle of cords. Eliminate tangles in your work area by feeding all of your cords through a hole drilled in your desk table. Plug the wires into a power strip mounted on the underside of your table and keep cords that aren’t in use in a wire basket suspended under your desk with hooks.
- Pick Cute Storage Containers
Office storage is necessary but it doesn’t have to be an eyesore. From table top bookshelves to file cabinets, look for those pieces with both function and style to foster creativity and encourage you to be always organized.
- Add More Life
Bring in the outdoors by adding a bit of greenery to your workspace. Greenery always has a positive effect because it cleans the air you breathe. Add to this benefit the subliminal effect of reducing stress and the fact that it’s always pleasing to look at. When in doubt, a small vase of colourful flowers will brighten up a small workspace.
Make your desk work or you. Always keep it organized and filled with adorable objects to transpire a more enjoyable and peaceful work environment. Replace that coffee-stained cup with a new and colourful one and stuck up on cute stationeries. Small changes, but surely makes a lot of difference.
